Job Description

The Barking Meter is seeking both full time and part time dog walkers. We are looking for reliable, hard working animal lovers to join our team. We are seeking an individual who has a passion for the industry and can commit to us long term, no less than one year. Candidates seeking employment for only a few months need not apply.

As a member of the team, you can expect to grow into the leader of your own pack. We will train you over the course of the first few weeks to help facilitate the bond and trust between you, your dogs, and our clients. Our staff, clients, and dogs become family.

Must be willing to submit to a background check and provide professional references. To apply, a cover letter must be included in the message body, not as an attachment.

All applicants who receive the opportunity to begin training will start as a 1099 contractor for four to six weeks before receiving an offer of employment.

Full Time

- Must be available Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

- Possibility for weekend shifts

- Will start at 15-25 hours per week as the work is rigorous and physically demanding; an increase to 35-40 hours over the course of the first month.

- Opportunity to board dogs in a client's home or your own home

- Start at $15.00 per hour, opportunity for growth.

- Benefits include, based on duration with the company and average hours worked, a monthly unlimited metro card, phone reimbursement, health insurance, and participation in company 401(k) with a company match

Part Time

- Must be available Monday - Friday; exception if looking to cover the weekend shift then must be available but Saturday and Sunday

- Possibility for weekend shifts

  • 15-25 hours a week

- Opportunity to board dogs in a client's home or your own home

- Start at $15.00 per hour, opportunity for growth.

- Benefits include, based on duration with the company, a monthly unlimited metro card and participation in company 401(k) with a company match. Over time, this can result in a full time position (see full time benefits).
