Job Description

Sierras Grill & Taqueria in Beltsville, MD is looking for one server/waitress/waiter to join our 18 person strong team. We are located on 11619 Beltsville Dr. Our ideal candidate is serious, self-driven, motivated, dependable and reliable, with knowledge on Alcohol Awarenes Certification. Slackers need not apply. In length:

Description

1.       Maintains and upholds the Sierras Grill philosophy and “Vision” statement.

2.       Greets guests promptly as they arrive at their table.

3.       Records accurate food and beverage orders and input into the POS system.

4.       Explains how menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Makes recommendations.

5.       Informs guests of daily specials, if any.

6.       Carries service tray in correct placement of orders to facilitate service of food and beverages, if applicable. Normally plates are HOT, so servers use pot holders, and inform patrons of this.

7.       Works safely, consistently using designated safety equipment (personal protective equipment- PPE).

8.       Completes bussing, runner, meal plater, utility and catering duties as assigned.

9.       Handles guest complaints in a positive and professional manner

10.     Flexible with job duties.

11.     As assigned works all shifts and holidays.

12.     Able to work in a high pace environment.

13.     As assigned, performs catering function set up, break down and service, normally speaking: Large parties.

14.     Organizes tasks and completes all assigned tasks. Ability to perform tasks concurrently.

15.     Maintains front of house and kitchen sanitation requirements.

16.     Understands and complies with all company safety policies.

17.     Reports to work on time and in complete uniform.

18.     Communicates appropriately with supervisors and dining room staff. Listens and follows up effectively.

Ability to serve meals, understands guests’ special requests, and follows through with the service process in a friendly manner.

Employee will be required to work weekends and non-closure holidays.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience in a kitchen/service environment preferred.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language. Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.

Serv-Safe Certified and Alcohol Awareness Certified
