Responsibilities

· A doer

·       Someone who can see what needs to be done and do it, whether it's changing a diaper, sweeping the floor, straightening a cubby, reading a book to a group of children, or giving one child special attention.

·       Authentic

·       Someone who will do what they say they will do, period.

·       Passionate

·       Someone who is passionate when working with children. The most important quality in our team is a deep love of working with children. If you can envision the growth in each child and help them build a scaffold to achieve it, you may be right for us.

·       Committed to children

·       Someone who is committed to each child. Commitment to the children is very important to us. It is very difficult for the children to become attached to an adult and then have that adult disappear. Most of our children come to us at age 2 and stay until they go to kindergarten. We want them to feel that this is a safe place with continuity of adults in their lives.

·       Committed to families

·       Someone who is committed to the parents as well and will work very hard to foster a community of our team and our families.

·       Community-minded

·       This is a small and intimate setting. We need someone who would choose to be part of our community, developing lasting relationships with the children, their parents, and our staff.

Qualifications

·       Experience working with preschool children, especially in an in-home environment

·       Experience working with a diverse population of children and parents

·       Willingness to run small group activities for our younger set, the 2-3-year-old children

·       An interest/background/passion for art or music, especially as it relates to preschoolers

·       Apple computer skills

·       A clean Trails background check,

·       A current health evaluation, and certificates of completion for the following courses: Universal Precautions, Medication, FEMA, Safe Sleep, Shaken Baby, Reporting Abuse to the State, CPR and First Aid. If you have not completed these requirements, you must be completing them at the time you apply.
