Job Description

North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network in Blue Ridge, GA is looking for one transport driver to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 2658 E 1st St. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, engaged, takes initiative, understands confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain the confidentiality of the shelter and the identity of any and all clients being transported.
  2. Ensure the safety and security of the clients at all times, including the use of seat belts while the vehicles are in operation. The driver must wear his/her seat belt at all times during vehicle operation.

3. Drive the agency car or van to transport clients on a regular basis and as needed when on-call.

4.  Assist passengers on and off the van as needed.

5. Drive the agency car or van to pick up supplies, food bank orders, and other non-client needs.

6. Plan routes for transportation needs to maximize fuel usage.

7.  Adhere to all Georgia laws regarding the operation of motor vehicles and practice defensive driving.

8.  Driver will be held personally responsible for any and all traffic and/or parking violations while operating agency vehicles.

9. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicles.

10. Report and record issues of vehicle damage, hazards and risks, or other concerns as soon as possible.

11.  Maintain the vehicle mileage logs after each vehicle trip.

12. Agree to random drug tests as requested or required by the agency.

13. Successfully complete required training as mandated by supervisor.

14.  Provide any other transportation duties (passenger or non-passenger) while on duty as instructed by supervisor.


Position Summary

The agency transport driver will be responsible for using the agency vehicles to transport NGMCN clients, transporting goods, picking up donations or food from area food banks on Tuesday and Thursday, weekly.


Qualifications

·        Valid Georgia driver’s license

·        A  clean MVR

·        Experience transporting clients with a previous agency preferred

·        Knowledge of the geographical areas to be served (Pickens, Gilmer, and Fannin Counties)

·        Successful criminal background check and drug screen

·        Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations
