Job Description

Montamara Kitchen in Tacoma, WA is looking for one part-time prep cook/dishwasher to join our 10 person strong team. This position starts as early as 5am. We are located on 2208 N 30 Th St #101. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Follow recipes and prepare simple dishes
  • Sanitize and prepare equipment and workstation for cooking
  • Weigh and measure ingredients
  • Mix, wash, peel, chop, grind, strain, slice meat and vegetables
  • Basic cooking functions such as kneading dough, and preparing sauces
  • Label stock and inventory all ingredients
  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas


Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate and listen to team members
  • Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
  • Experience as a Prep Cook a plus

About MONTAMARA KITCHEN
Montamara is a small neighborhood eatery nestled perfectly in Historic Old Town Tacoma. We are two long-time friends and restauranteurs with a passion for food and drink! Our food is simple and rustic made from scratch using local, seasonal and natural ingredients whenever possible. You will find twists on the traditional Pacific Northwest fare in our lunch and breakfast items, mixed with food inspired by our love of Italian, Spanish and Mediterranean ingredients in our small plates and entrees. The name Montamara loosely translated means “where mountain meets sea” and was picked from a piece of Tacoma History as it was the name of a festival celebrating food, friends, and family held here 100 years ago. Our goal was to create a warm, inviting space for friends and family. Our décor speaks to our core values, with reclaimed wood and other salvaged materials, and a true labor of love!
