Job Description

Flavors Of Louisiana in Chandler, AZ is looking for a line cook to join our team. We are located at 6245 W. Chandler Blvd.. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, and engaged.

Specific work duties include but not limited to;

* Complying with all food safety requirements such as checking and maintaining temperature, dating and labeling products, rotating products so that oldest is used first.

* Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.

* Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.

* Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, burners, ovens and refrigeration equipment.

* Handle, store and rotate all products properly.

* Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

* Complete side work for station and shift.§ Close the kitchen correctly. Follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing stations and the kitchen.

* Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.


Qualifications preferred for this position:

* A minimum of 6 months of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.

* Must be able to work in an environment that is often hot, noisy, and congested.

* Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.

* Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

* Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).


Experience:

Restaurant: 1 year (Preferred)

Cooking: 1 year (Preferred)


License:

  • Food Handler (Preferred)

Her father, Atlas Joseph Landry of White Castle, La. and her mother Olga Anna Alexander Landry of New Orleans, La. have been the inspiration to the flavors you can experience in this well known home styled Cajun restaurant. At Flavors of Louisiana we like to call those 2 styles country Cajun and city Cajun. The difference between the two are that the city Cajun (New Orleans style) is spicy hot and with red tomato base sauces and the country Cajun (Acadian) is spicy flavorful with rich brown roux base sauces.
