Job Description

CPAP Services in San Jose, CA is looking for a Sleep Apnea Medical Equipment Technician to join our growing team.

The Medical Equipment Technician will work with clinical and administrative employees to program and distribute medical equipment. The technician will also work with Sleep Apnea patients at our office or at their homes teaching proper use of the equipment including, but not limited to, complete instruction, mask fitting, therapy follow-up and troubleshooting.

The candidate will work with medical and financial information and must display a high degree of honesty and dependability and have a clean driving record. The position requires a resourceful individual with excellent customer service skills, office environment proficiency and teamwork abilities to get the job done. Experience in the medical field is a plus but not a requirement. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medical equipment according to Physician's prescription(s)
  • Teach Patient proper use and comfort technics
  • Carefully adhered to Physician’s orders, JCAHO standards and HIPAA regulations
  • Communicate with Doctor's office and medical staff
  • Inspected, clean, test and maintained respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Set equipment controls to regulate the flow of oxygen, positive air way pressure.
  • Distribute breathing equipment such as oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen, CPAP, AUTO CPAP, BIPAP and nebulizers to patients.
  • Answered clinical questions regarding patient’s equipment.
  • Resolve clinical problems.
  • Attend hospital in service programs related to areas of work specialization.

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented, quick learner, excellent customer care aptitude with professional conduct. We are looking for a personable Technician with strong communication and organizational skills. Minimum qualifications include, one year customer service experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office applications. Knowledge of the industry is a plus but we will provide proper training for the position.
