Job Description

Levain Bakery is looking for a dedicated and passionate Assistant General Manager to join our team as we plan to grow our business in NYC. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who can anticipate demand, keep customers happy, support staff, maintain high morale and do it with energy and drive.

Responsibilities:

• Be an expert in all things Levain: Have knowledge of all of our products, make coffee drinks like a pro and have a strong understanding of how the business works.

• Create and manage the weekly schedule for all employees.

• Promote a positive work environment for all staff: Our people are at the core of our success- our staff supports one another and genuinely enjoys the time they spend together. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive work environment for everyone who works at Levain.

• Model superior customer service: Cultivate a warm and welcoming environment for every customer coming into the store, build relationships with our many regular customers and create a memorable experience for people coming to the bakery for the very first time.

• Coach, develop and train your team: Help train new staff members and help grow and develop team members who are interested in building a career at the bakery.

• Maintain Department of Health standards at all times and perform timely reviews, follow-ups, and establish action plans as needed for: sanitation, shop scores and DOH inspections.

Job Requirements:

• Previous supervisory or management experience, preferably in food or retail

• Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

• Ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours

• Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally

• NYC Food Protection Certificate
