Aloha Lei in New Orleans, LA is looking for one PT chef to join our 10 person strong team. We are located on 801 Magazine St. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee food safety handling and sanitation practices for kitchen staff
  • Prepare dishes to recipe and creates specials
  • Experienced catering
  • Train and develop cooks as needed
  • Inventory and purchasing
  • Cash handling
  • Customer relations
  • Scheduling


Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate the team
  • Relevant food safety and handling certificate
  • Experience as a sushi chef is a plus or willing to learn
  • Open availability

  • Time Management and efficient multi tasker
  • Detail oriented

About Aloha Lei
Aloha Lei, the brainchild of sushi veteran Tracey Davenport and her partner and husband, Dave Kirtland, will open in Auction House market. Tracey's diverse experience in cuisine spans from her time at Brennan’s to sushi chef roles at Sun Ray Grill and Metairie’s Conola. Tracey was inspired to open Aloha Lei by her time spent in Hawaii and is excited to bring the flavors of the Pacific Rim, from Hawaii to Japan, to Acapulco and the Gulf Coast together. The Aloha Lei menu will include traditional sushi, poke bowls and unique twists like the Creole-inspired redfish and spicy crawfish roll and another South Louisiana favorite stuffed with grilled shrimp and topped with crab.
Aloha Lei uses Homebase to manage their team with employee scheduling, timesheets, and applicant tracking.
