JOB TITLE: Day Habilitation Instructor Duties would include but not limited to the following: • Help maintain a neat and orderly environment. • Help prepare and adapt instructional materials and room displays. • Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment, and supplies. • Provides supervision and assistance to assigned individuals to ensure their safety and well-being. • Assists with daily living activities and assistance in the areas of personal hygiene, • Able to complete reports and/or documents routine and unusual events including. • Maintain confidentiality. • Participate in staff development training programs, and special events as assigned. • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function. • Attend scheduled staff meetings. • Ensure the safety of the program participants by participating in required monthly fire drills, CPR training, etc. and assisting in maintaining an organized and orderly facility. • Assist Lead Instructor in developing meaningful activities for participants. • Work with staff to ensure the building maintains a professional and clean appearance. • Ensure the safety of participants during travel on the bus and community outings. MUST HAVE: • Common Sense • Passion for others, integrity, great attitude, and good moral character. • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule. • Follow all rules and regulations regarding client’s participant protocols, supervision, and safety. • Reliable transportation with insurance a must. QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to pass criminal and caregiver background check. • Proof of high school graduation/GED equivalent. • Minimum one-year experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. • Flexible and able to adjust daily routine. • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. • Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude. • Ability to work as a collaborative team member • Driver's License with clean driving record Working Conditions: • Light lifting and carrying, frequent bending, and stooping. • Work with frequent interruptions. • Maintain emotional control under stressful situations. • May require attending to hygiene and self-help needs of participants in emergency situations.
